WiQuest’s solutions have now attained the three critical industry regulatory and certification requirements.
(via Press Release from WiQuest Website – October 8, 2007) Allen, Texas – WiQuest Communications, Inc. the leading, fabless semiconductor company developing complete ultrawideband (UWB) silicon, software and reference design solutions, today announced that it is among the first to obtain official WiMedia Alliance platform certification for both the company’s Certified Wireless USB Hub and Adapter. WiMedia platform certification validates that WiQuest’s UWB total solution, including silicon and software, adheres to the WiMedia specification.
With WiMedia Platform certification, WiQuest’s solutions have now attained the three critical industry regulatory and certification requirements. WiQuest was the first to obtain FCC and TELEC (Japan) certification for its WUSB reference designs. Following that, WiQuest’s WQST110/101 Host Wire Adapter (HWA) and Device Wire Adapter (DWA) products were among the first to obtain Certified Wireless USB status. Now, with WiMedia Platform certification, WiQuest offers the most complete portfolio of solutions for ultrawideband applications.

The WQST110 and WQST101 chipset is the industry’s first commercially-available, high-performance silicon delivering wireless communication speeds up to 1 Gbps. Based on the WiMedia UWB physical layer (PHY) and media access controller (MAC) specifications, the WQST110 builds upon and extends the performance capabilities of UWB communications systems to a new level, providing a solid foundation for high-speed wireless cable-replacement applications.
WiQuest’s portfolio of reference designs includes a WUSB adapter, 4-port hub, mini card and half mini card. All use the WQST110/101 chipset and are based on the Certified Wireless USB specification from the USB Implementers Forum.
