Belgium based Testronic Labs was awarded with ITL status by the WiMedia Alliance
(via Press Release from Testronic – April 12, 2010) Testronic Labs, global quality assurance expert for the whole of the digital media spectrum, has been awarded Independent Test Lab (ITL) status by the WiMedia Alliance. This allows TL to offer certification services based on the alliance’s compliance, certification and interoperability (C&I) program for both PHY and MAC layers.
WiMedia is a new wireless technology for short range, high data rate and low power consumption in indoor environments. It also is the support layer for different wireless innovations like the popular next generation Bluetooth technology and Wireless-USB.
Testronic Labs is proud to welcome WiMedia into our integrated existing program of certifications which includes USB, Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA), S-ATA and Firewire. With burgeoning interest in the connected living room and the interoperability of web-enabled consumer electronics devices, this latest development helps embed TL yet further at the heart of the digital media ecosystem – the nexus of content and device in the home.
WiMedia certification services will be provided out of Testronic Labs’ Belgium operation in Diepenbeek. This new program supports Testronic Labs’ status as the go-to certifiers for consumer electronics and component manufacturers seeking the necessary credentials to bring their products to market.
ITLs verify a product’s compliance to the Wireless USB Specification and allows manufacturers to ensure that their products interoperate with other WUSB products. Product testing is available in the following categories: native device silicon, Host Wire Adapter (HWA) and Device Wire Adapter (DWA) end products, as well as native host (WHCI) and device end-products.
